XPS Shower Curb Sizes and Profiles: Distributor Selection Guide

An XPS shower curb should be ordered by depth, height, length, construction, surface treatment, and system fit. The profile controls the shower entrance geometry, while the length must match the planned opening and approved drawing.

Short answer: ANGESEN supplies four standard shower curb profile families: 2 x 3.5 in, 3.5 x 4 in, 4.5 x 5 in, and 4.5 x 6 in. Depending on the profile, standard lengths include 36, 48, 60, and 96 in. The curb is formed as a single piece with a blue XPS core, fixed black waterproof coating, and carton packaging.

This guide gives distributors, importers, wholesalers, OEM brands, and project buyers a clear size reference before requesting a quotation.

Standard XPS Shower Curb Size Table

The following dimensions are expressed as depth x height x length. Metric values are nominal references; the approved SKU or project drawing controls production dimensions and tolerances.

Inch size (D x H x L)Metric reference (mm)
3.5 x 4 x 36 in89 x 100 x 914
3.5 x 4 x 60 in89 x 100 x 1524
3.5 x 4 x 96 in89 x 100 x 2440
4.5 x 5 x 36 in114 x 127 x 914
4.5 x 5 x 60 in114 x 127 x 1524
4.5 x 5 x 96 in114 x 127 x 2440
4.5 x 6 x 48 in114 x 152.4 x 1220
4.5 x 6 x 60 in114 x 152.4 x 1524
2 x 3.5 x 36 in50 x 89 x 914
2 x 3.5 x 60 in50 x 89 x 1524
2 x 3.5 x 96 in50 x 89 x 2440

These are standard profile and length combinations. Custom requirements can be reviewed from a drawing, but the quotation should distinguish a standard SKU from a project-specific shape.

How to Choose the Curb Profile

Each profile creates a different entrance width and finished height. Buyers should review more than the nominal curb size because tile adhesive, tile thickness, adjacent floor build-up, shower tray geometry, and accessibility requirements all affect the finished assembly.

2 x 3.5 in Profile

This is the narrowest standard profile family. It is available in 36, 60, and 96 in lengths. Buyers should confirm that the narrower depth gives enough support and transition area for the selected shower layout and tile finish.

3.5 x 4 in Profile

This profile is available in 36, 60, and 96 in lengths. It provides a middle-range curb geometry for distributor stock or project programs using a defined shower entrance.

4.5 x 5 in Profile

The 4.5 x 5 in family is available in 36, 60, and 96 in lengths. The wider and taller geometry should be checked against finished tile height, the adjacent bathroom floor, and the selected tray or floor build-up.

4.5 x 6 in Profile

This taller profile is available in 48 and 60 in lengths. It should be ordered only after the buyer confirms the approved shower opening and finished assembly dimensions.

No profile should be presented as universally correct. The drawing, local installation method, shower entrance, tile plan, and system components determine the practical choice.

Single-Piece XPS Construction

ANGESEN shower curbs are formed as a single XPS piece rather than joined from several loose board sections. Standard construction uses a blue XPS core with a fixed black waterproof coating.

The prepared curb is tile-ready, but it must still be integrated with the complete wet-area assembly. Buyers and installers should plan:

  • Curb-to-tray or curb-to-floor transition
  • Curb-to-wall connection at both ends
  • Waterproofing continuity around corners and joints
  • Adhesive and tile-finish requirements
  • Finished entrance dimensions
  • Drainage and adjacent floor relationship

The curb can be supplied with XPS shower trays, tile backer board, prefabricated niches, and waterproofing accessories.

Carton and Mixed-Container Planning

Shower curbs are packed in cartons. They can be ordered as individual accessory SKUs or combined with backer boards, trays, niches, and related wet-area products.

For a mixed-container program, the buyer should provide the quantity of every curb size rather than only the total curb quantity. This supports carton markings, warehouse SKU separation, barcode planning, and loading calculations.

OEM discussions can include customer branding, product name, specification, batch number, production date, barcode, order number, carton marks, and country-of-origin information where required. Final carton quantity and container layout depend on the confirmed product mix.
