FAQ
Can tiles be applied directly on Angesen backer boards?+
Yes. Angesen backer boards have a specially treated surface with excellent adhesion to tile adhesives. We recommend using polymer-modified tile adhesives following standard installation procedures.
Do I need specialized tools to install the backer boards?+
No specialized tools are usually needed. ANGESEN boards can be cut with common jobsite tools such as a utility knife or hand saw, which can reduce dust exposure compared with power-tool cutting of cement-based boards.
How do I choose the right board thickness?+
For walls, 6-12mm is recommended. For floors, 10-20mm. Specific thickness depends on substrate condition, load requirements, and local building codes. Contact our technical team for personalized recommendations.
Do you support custom sizes?+
Yes. We offer standard sizes and custom fabrication services, including specialty boards, custom thicknesses, and non-standard dimensions.
Technical Support for Contractors and Distributors
Installation and Jobsite Troubleshooting Checklist
Tile backer board support questions are usually easier to solve when the board specification, substrate condition, waterproofing detail, and buyer channel are clear. Use this checklist before requesting technical documents, distributor training material, or OEM installation references.
Board layout before installation
What to check: Confirm board thickness, wall or floor use, substrate flatness, joint position, and whether openings, corners, niches, or pipe penetrations need extra treatment.
Next step: Send project photos and target board size to ANGESEN before bulk ordering if the application is not a standard shower wall or bathroom floor.
Fastening and fixing
What to check: Use the proper fixing method for the substrate and avoid loose fasteners, unsupported edges, or uneven board contact that can affect tile installation.
Next step: Ask for installation reference details when planning distributor training, OEM documentation, or contractor-facing product sheets.
Seams, corners, and penetrations
What to check: Treat joints, wall corners, tray transitions, niches, and pipe penetrations as waterproofing details rather than simple board edges.
Next step: Plan tape, membrane, sealant, collars, washers, and accessories together with the board program so contractors receive a complete system.
Distributor technical requests
What to check: Before asking for technical support, prepare board model, thickness, size, target market, packaging plan, and whether the order is for sample review or 40HQ supply.
Next step: Use the contact page to request TDS, installation references, sample details, and carton or pallet packaging information.
